Conservatives pledge to recruit 50,000 more nurses exposed as misleading
A report in the Independent today details how the Conservatives are being misleading with their numbers. In the Conservative manifesto, launched today they announce that they will deliver 50,000 more nurses. What they fail to mention is this target includes 19,000 nurses who are already currently employed by the NHS.
This comes days after they announced they would provide funding to build 40 more hospitals, but which later turned out to be preliminary funding for a refurb of just 6.
